xSNAP is a revolutionary, 3D-printable articulation system which, thanks to its ball-and-socket mechanism, enables precise protrusive, laterotrusive and mediotrusive movements, unlike conventional clips. Available as a module from DentalCAD version 3.1 onwards, it offers four types of condylar inclination (15°–45°) and adjustable incisal plates, allowing it to be integrated directly into partial or full models using any printer and resin. The simple snap-fit mechanism and low material requirements provide a quick and cost-effective solution for checking dynamic occlusion, whether for splints or dentures.

xSNAP is compatible with partial and full models and supports four types of condylar inclination: 45°, 35° (standard setting), 25° and 15°. It also comes with two incisal plates: a flat plate and a guided plate. These can be placed intraorally as required.
xSNAP can be easily selected during model construction and attached to the upper and lower jaw models. The models are then printed with the appropriate joint components. There are no restrictions on the user’s choice of modelling resin or 3D printer; material wastage is extremely low. Following post-processing, the ball head on the upper jaw model simply needs to be snapped into the guide element of the lower jaw model using a groove, and nothing else stands in the way of dynamic occlusion control.
